Guess what time it is… that’s right, my beautiful bebes, it is the annual MHAWS holiday gift guide for academics and those who love us.

This year, I’m leaning into ME. These are the things that: 1) I love, 2) I need, 3) I don’t need but I want, and/or 4) I don’t want or need but think you might want or need. MiLFs (Mirya’s Little Favorites):

My 2024 theme was vaguely goth luxury, and here’s what I loved from those purchases:

• We bought art from local artists and I love it and I want more

• I got this skull bowl to hold my little notebooks

• My #mobwife life is all about this jacket that Emily found for me

• Get yourself a pair of these headphones

• I’ve got to a travel wardrobe I really like, including these pants by Universal Standard and an Everlane cashmere vneck

• I love my Rothy maryjanes

• I got one of these for my cords in my backpack and it says SPITE on it and it makes me so happy

• I got this for my office and wow does it make me happy when I see it

MiNT (Mirya Needs This)

My needs are focused on how I can support my ridiculous writing more: I clearly need this mini punching bag and this book embosser.  Obviously my front door needs this wreath and this doormat so that I can write in peace. Wouldn’t my words just flow if I was wearing this sweater? Or this hoodie? Or this one? I clearly need this double glasses case as my eyes age. This ring COULD say your name or it COULD say spite or fuckyou or something equally as motivating that you would see as you type each little word. Not one, not two, but FIVE people sent this ring to me so clearly I need it as a remind for how I want to live my life.

MiOWs (Mirya’s Only Wants)

My wants are simple: Fun. Luxury. Extravagance. (did I mention fun?)

I got a fun poster hanger for the wall behind my desk this fall (currently featuring a David S Pumpkins poster gifted from a friend!) and I’m looking for art to rotate in. These caught my eye.

I also want this lil lightbox for my desk. And obviously, I want this every day a goal calendar soooo bad. This sweatshirt is accurate. This heated (!) weighted (!) lap blanket would be amazing. A cute photo printer. A perfect throw pillow. I want a plant in this planter to help me be creative. Or maybe this one? Or this one.

MiTEEY (Mirya’s Things for Everyone (Especially You))

I wrote a book! On sheriffs! and I would love it if you bought it. Makes an amazing stocking stuffer! A present for all family members! Everyone will be overjoyed to receive it*! (*no guarantee of joy)

You definitely need this sticker and this card and this one. An amazing fruit box or cheese advent calendar or vinegar gift set or heirloom masa harina. How about a book vase? Personalized charging cables? Amazing. Playing cards or tarot cards? Yes please. A board game or another one or puzzle to keep you occupied as you avoid your writing. Or just put this sign up.
